The Fires of Sohm Al

The fall of Nidhogg brought an end not only to the Dragonsong War, but also to the hierarchy of power that reigned upon Sohm Al. Bereft of its dreaded leader, the Horde scattered to the four winds, leaving the dragons' sacred grounds untended and unguarded. All manner of beastly intruders now skitter within, irresistibly drawn by the energies of bountiful crystal lodes. And the molten heart at the mountain's core beats with feverish intensity, as if seeking to expel some nesting parasite. Answer Vidofnir's plea! Cleanse the stone halls of their infestations, and return Sohm Al to its former tranquility.

Bosses

The Leightonward

There are four abilities in this game. The first one is called "Excretion," which is a targeted attack with a heavy component. The second ability is called "Spore Sac," which spawns many spores that will explode shortly. The third ability is called "Inflamable Fumes," which is a room wide area of effect attack. The fourth ability is called "Glorious Blaze," which is a proximity based explosion. These abilities have different effects and can be used strategically in the game.

Gowrow

The boss in question, known as Volcanic Howl, possesses a range of abilities. These include a room-wide Area of Effect attack, an untelegraphed frontal cleave that deals moderate damage but can be avoided by the tank, a 360° swipe, and the ability to unleash fireballs and a linear flame breath while facing the target. Additionally, the boss can charge at its target. It is worth noting that Volcanic Howl's attacks are similar to those of Giruveganaus in Stone Vigil and Coincounter in The Aurum Vale, as they are mostly untelegraphed. Players should be cautious and move away if the boss is facing them. Melee fighters should learn to differentiate between the frontal cleave and the 360° swipe. Furthermore, it is important to mention that many of Volcanic Howl's attacks apply a debuff that reduces healing effectiveness when they hit a player.

Lava Scorpion

The boss has several powerful attacks that players should be aware of. "Molten Silk" is a close range cleave that covers a 270° area. The safe zone is directly behind the boss, but be prepared for it to turn around and repeat the attack from the other side. "Deadly Thrust" is a high damage attack that targets a single player. "Hiss" summons 2-4 Scorpions that should be killed quickly. "Realm Shaker" is a short range circular area of effect attack around the boss. "Flying Press" randomly marks a party member for a moderate attack with splash damage, which also creates and expands lava puddles. It is important to avoid these puddles as they do high damage. Additionally, the adds called "Scorpion's Claw" will create lava puddles and must be killed before they complete the Borehole cast. The adds called "Scorpion's Tail" use a weaker version of Deadly Thrust. It is important to be cautious of Deadly Thrust in conjunction with damage from adds, and healers should be prepared while tanks may want to use defensive abilities.
